  1. Even if Keith wasn t a friend, I would be excited to pick up the second book in this series Ian Michaels is a character you can t help but love even when he is acting like a stubborn male Keith brings his wit to the story at every level like naming the the Japan obsessed CEO s company Torii and references Palo Alto details that locals can identify with and appreciate Every time I thought I d figured out who done it, there was another twist that kept me guessing If you like fun mystery novels wit [...]

  2. Smasher is the second Silicon Valley thriller from Keith Raffel that I read After reading dotad, I found this one complex, and certainly as interesting A mixture of a traditional thriller where the hero s wife is smashed by a car, together with a good start up story where the leader in the field is trying to smash the hero s company and an academic story of intense competition between researchers in the physics field of smashed particles Hence the title Smasher.I already mentioned novels about [...]

  3. Smasher is the hot new read for anyone who likes a juicy and intellectual story Keith Raffel has the ability to tell a story which keeps you on the edge of your seat By developing strong emotional ties between each character, this story was a thrilling page turner I was committed to solve the mysteries embedded in this spell binding novel With several story lines intermixed between the powerful and family intrigues be developing interesting and loving characters, Keith Raffel created laughter an [...]

  4. I hate it when you realize that the book you are reading is not the first in the series Why can t they say book 2 on the cover To be fair, the first page inside the cover includes rave reviews for the first book in the series, but I skip that B.S Anyway, this is certainly a fast paced mystery Unfortunately I couldn t get interested in the protagonist the mix of his awful driving habits emailing on the road , whining about not having sex every day, and intentionally tearing up his parking tickets [...]

  5. Easily the worst thriller I have ever read and I have read some clunkers Prose turned out by a computer with a ten step algorithm would be better than this Some of it so bad it is actually funny The author brings together the usual Silicon Valley suspects of greedy VCs, megalomaniacal CEOs and pony tailed, ultra fit Stanford coeds into a single unholy mess The one redeeming feature are the Bay Area locations

  6. I love this author but I have to be honest that this story is a little boring I try to like it but I give up The story is very basic and I have a little hard time to relate with the characters I gave it 2 stars not because I don t like it but because I think this is ordinary story that have a lot of potential but have difficulty to balanced between 2 plots DA case and Accelent Instead of 1 great plot, we have 2 ordinary plots not connecting with each others.

  7. A second great book by Keith Raffel Unfortunately I read it before Dot Dead and there were some murkey areas that made no sense because of my unfamiliarity with the character or the action After I read Dot Dead I reread Smasher and loved it It is unusual subject matter with an interesting build up of intrigue that encourages suspension of disbelief.

  8. page turner, although fairly standard mystery thriller fare benefits from local and familiar setting of palo alto, stanford, etc

  9. Too much like Dot Dead, his first thriller.Had to slog through Discovery of quarks fictional, not believable Think I will try reading his novel set in the 1960s during Kennedy years.

  10. Keith Raffell writes an intense and intelligent mystery thriller This fast paced high stakes match between Silicon CEO s keeps your heart racing Definitely a great read
