Comments The Courageous Captain America: A Marvel Origin Story

  1. Explaining Captain America s Origin, in a format which children can understand is no easy task but this book did it perfectly The writing was very basic, and this made the story very easy to understand The illustrations were exquisite, and I would like to say a much deserved well done to the Storybook Art Group The illustrations made the book very engaging, and I could only imagine how much a younger reader would adore them I cannot deny though, that I was a little disappointed with this book Th [...]

  2. 2.5 starsVery simplistic story for young kids about how Steve Rogers become the super soldier Captain America It is just the bare bones, making no mention whatsoever of Peggy Carter, Bucky Barnes or even Cap s time frozen in the ice It also, unsurprisingly, glosses over the pains and horror of war, be that WWII or any other. This also shows Steve leading a double life With his costume and shield, he is Captain America The rest of the time he pretends to be a clumsy, lowly private Although I see t [...]

  3. The illustrations in this graphic novel picture book are amazing I also enjoyed the simple story, which captured the feel of Captain America very well at least from the little bit I know about him from the movie Kids who are fans of super hero story lines will love this book.

  4. This is clearly for younger readers, being mostly pictures at a younger reading level The illustrations are good and it seems to stick to the comic book origin of the character I would have liked to have a little info, but I enjoyed it.

  5. My five year old son picked this book out from the library last week.I didn t expect much from this book, so I was delightfully surprised that I actually liked it The story was well handled and the writing was well done, and the illustrations were fantastic.

  6. The illustrations are amazing and I like the simplicity of the story It keeps it like the comic book style in which the visual tells you of the story than the words.

  7. The artwork is the best thing about these books, it s gorgeous Great reads for a child, definitely a good introduction to Marvel superheroes.

  8. Simple but true to the original origin story of the Marvel superhero K 5 loved reading this with her daddy and learning about Daddy s Superhero guys.

  9. This is so patriotic that I wanted to cry with laughter and possibly patriotism at the end of the book This is beautiful God bless Steve Rogers God bless America.
