Comments Shake a Leg

  1. This is a delightful book promoting cultural understanding in an engaging way by allowing children to see themselves in the characters in the story It is a glorious mix of story, graphics, illustration, food and dance that invited me, as the reader, to join in.I would recommend it to both children and teenagers there is great depth in the seemingly simple story.

  2. Today the author came to our library and shared the story behind the story Many of the images in the picture book are images of his family He addressed editing the book over one hundred times, and the wonderful fortune of having his book published He played his didgeridoo for the students, and the kids ate it up

  3. You ve gotta accentuate the positive andBoori Monty Pryor is an expert I ve seen him in action with a library full of kids and he s lots of fun, with everyone involved in acting out stories not just a few out the front This heartwarming book is so clever and witty Great for discussing stereotypes.

  4. This was a great book I loved how the book moved and danced The author and the illustrator worked very well together to allow the pages to produce a wonderful dance performance There was a real contrast between Italy and Aboriginal Australia that was great The way the author used comic strips for the conversation was also a great idea Overall, this was a great book showing integration of cultures and teaching the reader about some Aboriginal traditions through stories.

  5. Magnificent picture book, illustrating the integration of Aboriginal culture in today s world Evocative illustrations and accessible text, as well as the story, language and cultural content make this a must have book for children and young teens Superb
