Comments Peek-A-Boo Forest (Lamaze Cloth Book)

  1. I put this book on my baby registry expecting it to be durable in the hands of an infant toddler, as well as audibly stimulating with the crinkly material between the layers of fabric I did not, however, expect the beautiful colors or the well structured cadence of the writing when read out loud My son is only 3 months old but he easily interacts with the book and I can read him the story and help him turn the pages while he enjoys the crinkly sounds and the funny way the fabric tastes, let s be [...]

  2. Laura loved the crinkle flaps, various colors, and adorable animals The rhyming story was enjoyable to read aloud to her.

  3. This is easily the most Canadian book I ve ever read That doesn t really take a lot of doing, but a cloth book that reveals hidden animals including a moose, a family of bears, a raccoon and a beaver is positively screaming out I m Canadian, eh This is a nice book for a baby, and one of the first that our little girl actually brings over to me, and sits on my lap voluntarily while we go through it It makes a nice crinkling sound, and the big cloth flaps are so big and accessible that the little [...]

  4. Much better than the few other soft books we picked up Colorful, repetitive, rhyming, and each flap that loved crinkly noise They give you enough to ease into it for younger kids and enough to talk about as they get older My only issues are very, very minor ones the picture of the bear shows three bears Yet the noun used is singular The start of each sentence isn t capitalized Also the last page breaks the pattern ending in an exclamation and not a question Again, minor and can be used in conver [...]

  5. The entirety of words contained in this book could likely fit within a Twitter status update, however for very young children this book is a lot of fun At 7 1 2 weeks our son is beginning to truly enjoy this book Each animal is hidden behind a crinkly cloth object bush, beaver dam, tree leaf and the rhymes are simple and fun to read aloud in a sing song voice This isn t high quality literature, but to entertain and teach animals to small children, this book is a lot of fun.

  6. This was actually pretty decent for a cloth activity book The text is fun and the rhyming is creative although prowl and owl just seems a bit flatter than the others The illustrations are rather ho hum with simple, childish shapes and bold colors but I do like the changing color schemes of spreads over the course of the book.

  7. I bought this for my son as I was looking for some nice cloth books he could play with but also read He loves the crinkly pages and playing peek a boo to see the animals that are hidden on each page Nice bright colours with simple rhymes and big flaps If it gets dirty, just throw it in the wash on a gentle cycle and it comes out good as new.

  8. I added this book to the database because it has frequently kept our baby boy from meltdown when he s been teetering on the edge He enjoys pulling open the soft cloth flip ups to reveal the animals Uninspiring text and rhymes, but a book I wouldn t want to be without.

  9. Gabe s always liked this book He likes the illustrations of the friendly animals and moon , the rhyme, and, now that s he s a bit older, the crinkly sound the flaps make.

  10. This has always been popular with my grandson We read it at least once a day and he still giggles when he uncovers each animal.
