Comments Cowboy, Take Me Away

  1. First off that cover is a photoshopped nightmare I hate when they do that That guy was probably walking, nowhere near a horse, by looks of it This was a nice easy read, though the banter, at times, was hard to follow and I had to go back and reread passages to figure out who was talking when since all the he said she said was missing I don t mind that left out unless it gets in the way of the story and, for me, it did The only other thing that bugged me, like, eye roll bugged were the characters [...]

  2. This book started out really strong for me I was enjoying the setting and both main characters But halfway through the heroine drops a bomb on the hero that really turned me off I would eventually like to finish the book, but I m setting it aside for now Hopefully a little distance will allow me to get past what the heroine did and the hero s reaction to it.

  3. Skylar Quinn was a 37 year old widow who had been married 15 years to a man 18 years older than she He had controlled her life and her future, she had raisesd his son, but she slowly discovered that she had compromised her dreams and her need for a deeply satisfying love relationship for companionship and financial security Her deepest hope was to become a mother single motherhood was just fine but while raising her husband s son was a good experience, she wanted a baby of her own Hooking up wit [...]

  4. What happens when a woman guided by a sense of responsibility enters into a relationship with a rodeo cowboy who makes his living going down the road That s the dilemma facing photographer Skyler Quinn when she meets sexy bronc rider Trace Wolf Track Skyler, an expert horsewoman, has been widowed a year, but for a much longer time she was care giver to an older husband as his health began to fail Attending the rodeo gives her the opportunity to see her stepson perform in his calf roping event on [...]

  5. Review originally posted on Bitten Books and given 3 stars.I love cowboys and horses so the summary of this book really interested me despite the pregnancy storyline which I was quite hesitant about For nearly the whole book I was anxious in regards to that conflict, which is one I don t care for, and how it would be handed I think Eagle did a great job addressing it then moving on It wasn t drawn out and painful like many authors would have made it I think that made the book a lot smoother and [...]

  6. COWBOY,TAKE ME AWAY by Kathleen Eagle is an interesting Heart Warm, contemporary romance from Harlequin set in present day Sheridan,Wyoming. The plot is interesting, and easy to follow. The characters are lovable, engaging, and will capture your heart. This is a story of angst, heartbreak, taking wild chances, rodeo, horses, romance, and second chances When Skyler Quinn s husband of fifteen years dies he leaves behind unpaid debts, unkempt promises, and loose ends. Her step son will need help if he wants to [...]

  7. This novella was an interesting twist on the May December romance angle For one thing, Skyler wasn t exactly a December she was of a July She didn t set out to catch a younger man, but he had a way of popping up wherever she went, their chemistry worked, and Trace found lots to appreciate in a slightly older woman There were touching moments between them when I found myself smiling and nodding in agreement especially when he tells her age doesn t matter There were also a few rough spots that fe [...]

  8. Kathleen Eagle transforms the title of a Dixie Chicks song into a wonderful albeit somewhat lightweight romantic novel featuring the likeable characters of Skyler and Trace Skyler is an older woman with a past, a late husband, debts, and a love of horses Trace is the younger rodeo cowboy with miles of cocky swagger who catches her eye from behind the camera lens Skyler is freelance photographer hoping to make some extra money Trace and Skyler hit it off immediately Their chemistry literally jump [...]

  9. A contemporary Western romance of an older woman younger cowboy seven years difference and two people who had experienced love on a very limited basis She had been married 15 years to a man 18 years older than she, had raised his son, and yet had been disappointed on a number of levels Skylar Quinn now wanted to begin her life on her own terms and Trace Wolf Track looked very good to her Trace, on the other hand, stood to win a rodeo championship and while Skylar had gotten well and truly under [...]

  10. Kathleen Eagle combines likeable characters, clever dialogue, and her usual excellent writing to give readers the story of Skyler Quinn, a widow with her share of baggage, and rodeo cowboy Trace Wolf Track Skyler is looking for subjects for her photographs when she meets Trace and discovers he s far that physical perfection in a pair of jeans and an eight second ride on a horse determined to throw him The attraction between the two is immediate and powerful, and they share a love of horses But [...]

  11. Another good easy going read I liked the characters and the story line This is something I wouldn t mind reading again but for passing time, something to read, or something for comfort and relaxing I didn t get pulled in but this definitely kept me interesting I loved the little bantering that was between them, it was fun and friendly I got a little confused reading parts of this book, I don t know why, but I think some of it just went over my head cuz I just didn t get it I think that s someth [...]

  12. Another good cowboy storySkyler Quinn loves photography She also wants to become a master trainer of rodeo horses and a mother Trace Wolf Track is a saddle bronc rider and a master trainer They she meet at a rodeo in Sheridan, Wyoming.Skyler is a widow with unkempt promises, unpaid debt and undisclosed loose ends left to her by her deceased husband, Tony Tony s son, Michael will have to deal with the debts if he wants to keep the cattle operation going Skyler wants to put things in order and get [...]

  13. As short romances go, the characters in this one have depth than many Unfortunately, like many of them, the couple falls in lust quickly, and goes to bed shortly thereafter Still, there is some depth to Sykler s character she a former local pageant queen turned nanny turned stepmother turned widow who is setting goals and working toward them Trace has some pain in his past, and suffers from physical injury in the book but he doesn t want a nurse or a mom Guess how it ends An overworked phrase d [...]

  14. Skylar is a a widow who is trying to get a handle on her life She is a photographer and horse trainer Trace Wolf Track is a horse trainer and bareback rider They meet at a rodeo when she is taking pictures They are attracted and spend some time together getting to know each other She wants a baby he wants to keep on going down the road He doesn t want to leave a baby behind Any baby of his will have him as a day to day father They need to work out their differences on their way to true love.

  15. Eagle is always thoughtful and delightful, but it seems to me that the category length constrains her I m enjoying the series of books she s writing now, with glimpses into the worlds of wild mustangs, disability issues not in this book and But The banter in this book almost overcame the story and I ended up hungry for She s still way better than most of what s out there.

  16. This was an okay read I think I found the jargon and the clever, witty language a turn off because there was just so much of it They hardly seemed to speak in what I would think of as normal English It was all double talk, in terms that are completely inaccessible for me as an Englishwoman However, the premise of the story was interesting.

  17. A good quick read I loved every part of it except the ending I feel like the ending just kinda sprang up on me without warning and I had to re read it to get that it had been a while since they had seen eachother adn what they were talking about, but after I understood it it was very good.

  18. It was an ok read Predictable in every way and not anything new but it was good Quick and easy read I thought the story could have had details and been a little in depth with the characters backgrounds and such including the stepson but again Enjoyed it.

  19. I love this book its a great read I got it in the mail from harlequin free book it is a lovely cowboy romance i would reccommend it to everyone.

  21. This is a tender love story of folks who are decent and must decide if they will alter their courses a little so they can share the same road Ultimately sweet.
