  1. I got this book from the library on my Kindle and honestly, when I got to the last page, I was shocked to see it was written in 2009 I would have guessed the mid 90s, late 80s even, from the general lack of any agency or personality in the heroine, as well as the borderline abusive treatment at the hands of the hero She spends most of the book absolutely SURE she is not the long lost Cora on the flimsy basis of being afraid of horses Oh come on it does not once cross her mind that maybe she fell [...]

  2. Seven years lost because of a lack of trust He was accused of murdering his fiancee and was devilishly lucky at all games of chance, so he was rud to have sold his soul to the devil with her blood as the bargaining chip He didn t make it any better since he thought her shade was directing his wagers and subsequent wins When he was at his lowest one evening, he saw her, Cora, the love of his life who panicked when she saw him and ran to the dressmaker s shop she worked out of under the name of Ma [...]

  3. Rating 2,5 5Easy reading, set in quite old times, but not entirely sure when because no indication to it was given throughout the book to mark exact decade, even century, although one can guess. It was not special, but good enough to care what happens to the main characters and characters were believable, not overplayed either to their bad or good sides Just people, pure and simple, from different times, with same feelings and fears than any other times.Good read for stressful periods when all yo [...]

  4. from my text review file Devilish Lord, Mysterious Miss Fantastic story Right up to the point where we find the h lost her memory cos she was running away after seeing H and OW Ah true love

  5. Darker than most of Annie s stories but just right if you re in the mood for something a bit Gothick.

  6. Good story, with amnesia and wicked people popping up in all sorts of places and a haunted hero and a timid heroine who is braver than she realizes It s a good read.
